TRAVELLING

The venue of the conference (SGH Building C) is located in the vicinity of the metro line M1, between stations Pole Mokotowskie and Racławicka. Bus and tram connections are also available. 

HINTS FOR TRAVELLING IN WARSAW

The default destination for travelling by plane is Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). Another option is Warsaw Modlin (WMI) which is approximately 1h away from the city center by train (the train connection is direct and convenient). 

Public transport hints for Warsaw in Google Maps app are accurate and reliable. You can also use a dedicated app Jakdojade (available on AppStore and GooglePlay) - this covers multiple Polish cities and you need to select Warsaw.

The WAW airport (Chopin Airport) is located relatively close to the city center and well-communicated with public transport:

  • by bus (line 175 or 188); if you're going straight to SGH building C, you will need to change to other lines (see Google Maps / Jakdojade for details).
  • by train (RL / S2 / S3): if you're going straight to SGH building C, you will need to change to bus/tram at PKP Służewiec (see Google Maps / Jakdojade for details).

You can use ZTM tickets, purchased at the vending machines, for all buses and trains. (For a trip from the airport to SGH Building C or the city center, 20-minute ticket is likely insufficient and 75-minute ticket is recommended). Note that there are also vending machines of Koleje Mazowieckie (KM), but these tickets are valid only on the RL trains. The ticket remains valid from the moment of activation (which is not the moment of purchase), and needs to be activated in the machine on board. The exception is RL train line where it needs to be activated by the staff at the head of the train. Please note that all the relevant venues, including the airport, are located in Zone 1 (Zone 1+2 tickets are not necessary.) Depeding on your preferences and travel/hotel arrangements, 3-day ticket can be considered as an option.
